Procedure Description: Enhancing the size and shape of breasts using saline or silicon implants
Length of Surgery: About 2 hours
Anesthesia: General Anesthesia
Hospital Setting: Outpatient
Side Effects: Temporary soreness, swelling, change in nipple sensation and bruising
Recovery:
A. If implants are placed under the muscle: Lifting restriction: 7lbs or less for the first 7 days Driving :May drive within 4 to 7 days, provided not taking pain medication Back to work: Within 5 to 7 days Strenuous activities: 4 weeks
B. If implants are placed over the muscle: Lifting restriction: 7lbs or less for 3 to 5 days Driving: Within 3 days Back to work: Within 3 to 5 days Strenuous activities: 4 weeks
