Patient A OVAL implants, TRANSAXILLARY (thru armpit)
This patient had oval implants inserted thru the armpit, otherwise known as the transaxillary approach. She had an ideal breast shape for a transaxillary approach because the breast base is well shaped(not constricted or narrow), so there is no need for detailed work at the base of the breast. Also, going thru the armpit is appropriate because the nipples are symmetrical and no lifting of the nipple is required.

Patient B OVAL implants, INFRAAREOLAR approach(below nipple)
This patient had oval implants placed below the nipple, or the infraareolar choice of incision.
The implant selected was oval in shape because she wanted 'fullness' in the upper part of the breast. An oval implant is longer than it is wide so it will lay slightly higher on the chest wall. Its upper end is tapered to help conceal the upper edge of the implant. Because it is oval it has to be placed a specific way, and its wall is textured to help it hold in place.
